The Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015 event is just about to take place. This is what you should be looking forward to seeing.
Easyfair’s Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2015 will be one of this year’s best events for packaging designers and enthusiasts. For two consecutive days, (September 16 and 17), many of the best packaging innovations and luxury packagings will be shown to the public in one of London’s most iconic conference centers, Olympia.
The big packaging events are always a great way to develop some networking with suppliers and industry leaders, as well as keeping up with the latest trends in the field. In this year’s event, you’ll also be able to peek at over 180 exhibitors, watch a Live Design Challenge, attend different conferences on luxury packaging and packaging innovations, two Drinks and Beauty symposiums, a Great Innovations Debate and some networking.
Some of the big names have already been confirmed to speak on the event, such as Müller, Liberty, Nabeel Perfumes and Brand On Shelf (BOS). The Learnshop keynotes in both the Brand Innovations Theather and the Keynote Theatre will host the speakers’ life stories and packaging advice.
One of the talks, “The Power of Packaging Design”, by Guy Douglass, Managing Director at BOS, will look at how packaging can fight the ubiquitous“discounters’ copycat design”, according to Packaging News, and the online marketplace. Douglass himself stated that:
“As marketing channels continue to fragment and the rate of change in shopper behaviour continues to accelerate, the role of packaging as part of an FMCG brand’s marketing mix is becoming crucial. It’s the brand in the hand, working at the coalface to enable your brand to influence your consumer right through the product life cycle. Ignore it at your peril.”
Many other leading brands have also been confirmed to sign up, such as Eckart, Fleet Luxury, HH Deluxe Packaging, DS Smith, Iggesund Paperboard, Billerudkorsnäs and Woerner + Cie. The Luxury Packaging Conference will also host the talks of Jeremy Lindley, design leader of Global Brands at Diageo; Ann Dunne, head of product quality & development at Harrods; Kate Shaw, global creative director at Crabtree & Evelyn; and Kate Stone, managing director at Novalia.
The Drinks Symposium, on the day two of the show, will also be an interesting activity, with talks from Sauvelle and Funkin Cocktails. Andrew King, Managing Director at Funkin, commented, (according to Web Packaging):
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and we are delighted with our new look as Funkin embarks on the next phase of its growth. The packaging is sophisticated and contemporary and also highlights Funkin’s heritage with ‘established in 1999.’ This bold and exciting change will increase awareness and ultimately drive consumer trial.”
On the day before, the Beauty symposium will also go hard, confirmed by Stirling Murray, CEO and Founder of The Red Tree:
“The Beauty Symposium is thrilled to be back at Packaging Innovations London and Luxury Packaging, and particularly excited about the expansion to Olympia. We welcomed an incredible 300 people to our seminars last year, and anticipation is already starting to build about the 2015 sessions. Once again, we have a strong and diverse line-up of speakers, who are going to share their innovative ideas about all things packaging and beauty.”
