Most quality and precious alcoholic drinks, like Whisky and Champagne, are very expenses and maybe their special flavor and exclusiveness worth the price. Consumers that want the best whisky or champagne and they are willing to pay the high price, surely want that the bottle and packaging look like some kind of treasure so they can impress the view of their guest, apart from their palate (if they want to share the beverage). That’s why alcoholic drinks brands dedicate a lot of attention in designing the best packaging to accompany their special product.
Chivas Regal. The Icon
The whiskey company Chivas Brothers has presented one of its odd blends, The Icon, a premium scotch whiskey. The deluxe bottle and the outer case were designed by the agency Coley Proter Bell. Each bottle is hand blown with a metalwork label adorned with the Celtic symbol of friendship and love.
The green glass of the bottle is inspired from the original one created on the beginning of twentieth century, when Chivas Regal was starting to export from Scotland.
Chivas 18 Year Old
Some years before, the same brand, had brought to the market a limited edition to promote Chivas 18 Year Old, creating an awesome case and decanter. The outer cases tried to communicate the idea of purity and movement .It was called “The Drop”.
The designers in charge were Pininfarina, the Italian luxury product and interior designers.
The Absolut Vodka bottle is renewed. The updated bottle will be lighter and more elegant on the body design and will have a flattened bottom. It will also refresh the two-line logo incorporating a new script and it will add a brand signifier at the back of the bottle. The bottle has now a more refined look and environmentally friendlier nature.
The shape of the iconic Absolut bottle has remained unchanged since the beginning of the brand in 1979.
The French champagne store Dom Pérignon has created a limited-edition package design for Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004, as well as the curious art object called “Cocoonase”. The green dark glass cocoon construction is designed to keep the bottle of champagne inside. The designer Iris van Herpen collaborated on this project. “Cocoonase” acts as a shield that protects the Dom Pérignon bottle.
The scotch house of GRAND MARNIER updates its Cordon Jaune triple sec whiskey variant. The challenge was to make this sub brand the key entry point for new consumers into the Grand Marnier products.
Butterfly Cannon has created a packaging design for Glenmorangie’s latest Private Edition release. The labeling and typography are motivated on the brand’s inventory books. The task was to balance a rustic and brewing story with a rare prestige malt whisky one.
Bar Pesca Salada
Barcelona design agency, Dorian, creates and produces bottles for gin for the “Bar Pesca Salada”, an old fish shop converted into a maritime themed bar. Each bottle features a man appearing to swim in the drink and it becomes a visual game as the bottle empties. The challenge was to be original and share something in common with the place.
The design agency, STUDIOIN, in Moscow created this elegant and majestic bottle of vodka, with a lot of character and personality.
The color palette used on the vodka bottle is almost completely silvers with small touches of gold, which stress the alcohol type. A large grey cross is placed front and center on the bottle which surely will catch the consumer’s attention. An ornamental key hangs from the neck of the bottle and heraldic symbols are placed throughout.
