The Green Chameleon team wanted to send a different kind of Christmas present this year and, as an agency who like to create new experiences, we thought we’d try and surprise our friends and clients. After experimenting with a few out-there concepts, we decided that we wanted to rebrand that much-maligned Christmas speciality – the sprout – and offer a gift that would stand out amongst the Christmas clutter.
After coming up with the concept, we worked with local chocolatiers Zara’s Chocolate to create the sweet sprout range, ensuring that the project would not only look fantastic but taste damn good too. With the chocolates on their way, we set ourselves a strict design deadline to ensure the sprouts reached our clients before Christmas. This enforced deadline lead to the team stripping out the usual review periods and letting our instincts guide the design process.
The resulting packaging utilises digitally-printed labels via our friends at RipeDigital, who used layers of white and black ink on a clear acetate that we applied to the jars by hand to create the look of a classic confectionery jar!
Due to the combination of this print approach, the striking typography and the choice of packaging, GC feel that we’ve created a standout yuletide gift for our clients and peers that’ll be remembered long after the 12 days of Christmas.
